2.0 Week 3
OK so I'm jumping right in with this weeks question. How easy or difficult was it to find articles that needed editing? Were the errors you found factual or grammar / spelling? So it is fairly easy to find articles that need editing. Mostly the mistakes are grammar related but there are also some spelling mistakes. The factual mistakes are usually because an article has not been updated so the information is out of date rather than completely incorrect. There are less factual mistakes than grammar likely because they are easier to spot. The human brain is very good at filing in so if there are grammar or spelling mistakes people tend to read right over them without even noticing. See most of you reading this just missed the mistake in the last sentence. The difference with factual mistakes is that if you cross reference with any other database/reasource the mistake becomes obvious because the information is not supported by both sources. So now I'll leave you with a list of some interesting Wikipedia articles. *Wow! Signal *Tube Bar Prank Calls *Kola Superdeep Borehole *Year Without a Summer *K Foundation Burn a Million Quid *Sokal Affair *Person From Porlock If you still want some more interesting articles just search insteresting Wikipedia articles on google. Enjoy
